Griffin Family House Fire

Donation protected
Sergeant Jermaine Griffin is a supervisor with Homeland Security Protective Service in Kansas City.

He is a single father caring for his young son.

On Feb 3rd at about 500pm his son was staying with his great grandmother at their home.  While the grandmother was cooking food a fire erupted and quickly got out of control.  They were both able to make it out of the house but returned to obtain some shoes because of the cold.  The grandmother made it back out but Young Griffin did not.  He was found by Fire Fighters in the back of the home clutching the family dog who later expired.  Young Griffin was injured by smoke inhallation before being rescued by heroic responding Kansas City Fire Fighters.

Sgt. Griffin received the call while at work and quickly responded to the scene just a few miles away where he found a fire scene at his home.  Shocked and scared he phoned his supervisor to let him know of the situation while waiting to see his son who was being stabalized. Obviously, as any father would be Sgt. Griffin was shaken and scared as his own was suffering..

Now young Griffin is in Childrens Mercy Hospital on a ventilator in critical condition but is "expected "to survive.   They do not know yet if any brain damage was sustained.

The home was a total loss and they have nothing.

Sgt. Griffin's employer has set up this account to generate compassionate funds to assist his family in re-building.

Sgt. Griffin makes a modest wage while serving his community as a supervisor patrolling a private city funded facility with public access and supervising a staff of officers.  He is dedicated, serious about his work, pays attention to detail and is very successful as a supervisor and patrolman. He is an model employee and has served the company and his community.  As a single father he loves his son and provides for him as best he can.  This is difficult for any parent.  However, despite any difficulties he loves and cares for his young son.

For anyone suffering a casatrophic loss such as this times can be tough. Contributions from caring people help a family rebuild and reminds everyone of the passion human beings have to help one another no matter who they help.  In this case your helping a fellow community member who gives back to the community in many ways.

Thank you for reading no matter what your response is. If all you have is a prayer or positive energy for this family it will be accepted...
