Melanie's Medical Fund

Donation protected
A few years ago, Melanie and I went on a Disney Cruise to Alaska with our families. Shortly after returning home, we BOTH found out that we were pregnant. It was a race to the finish to see who could go in to labor first (she beat me by exactly 20 days) - Melanie had wanted for so long to be a mom and her and Andy did everything in their power to make it happen. Through all of their struggles to get pregnant, she rarely ever walked around without a smile on her face. I always amired her for that - showing such strength and grace when everything was working against her. I grew to admire her even more so when I got to watch her be the mother she had wanted so badly to be, and she is pretty darn good at mommyhood if I do say so myself. I guess what I am trying to get at here, is that looking back over the last few years of our lives, the very last thing I imagined I would be doing is setting up a GoFundMe account trying to raise money for her medical bills and other needs, shortly after finding out that she has been diagnosed with brain cancer... That just sounds so surreal and so ugly to say. She has so much life in her, and there isn't a SPECK of doubt in my mind that she will come through this with flying colors, but regrdless of that - I just will never be able to understand why the ugliest things happen to the most beautiful people. But, "God only gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers" so I'm ready to cheer her on as she fights this for herself, her son, her family, and the countless people who love and adore her.

This account has been created to raise money for Melanie's medical bills, and whatever other expenses this diagnosis will end up costing her and her family. 100% of the proceeds (minus the % that GoFundMe takes out) will go straight to Melanie and Andy. If you are able to donate, even if it is just a small amount, please know that your generosity does not and will not go unnoticed. If you are unable to donate, prayers are also a form of donation that the family will so graceously accept as well.

Faith is a huge part of Melanie's life, and I know that during these trying times that her faith will only grow stronger, so I leave you all with this beautiful poem I found that I feel fits her and this situation perfectly:

He's in Control

"Do not rush ahead of God

When another test appears

He's in control as ever

And your heartfelt prayers He hears

Our Father knows tomorrow

Keep your trust and faith in Him

When our thoughts are on ourselves

Our Lord's face grows slightly dim

Trust when the sun is shining

Trust also when there's rain

You will never be alone

He knows, feels, and shares your pain

You have so many blessings

Through you think and see through tears

Keep leaning on your Father

Who can rid you of your fears

In your faith keep standing firm

No matter what's allowed

Soon you'll be victorious

When God rolls away the cloud."
