Help Me Walk a Mile In Her Shoes
My Family and Friends,
On Saturday May 4th,
I will be walking a mile in women's high heels to protest rape,
sexual assault & gender violence. In Montgomery County, Laurel
House in Norristown and the Women's Center of Montgomery County answered a
combined 13,700
hotline calls, provided 5,300 shelter days and 15,000 hours of counseling.
In Pennsylvania, 60 domestic
violence shelter and counseling programs helped 82,300 adults and 7,300
children, while more than 5,000 requests
for shelter could not be filled due to lack of space. Thats 5,000 women who worked up the courage to seek help and most likely had to return to abusive homes because there wasn't enough space.
Please help me raise money
for the Laurel House in Norristown. Any donation will help, small or big. All
money donated will help go towards this walk and the charity.
If you have any questions
feel free to contact me via facebook. You can make a donation on this page with
a credit card or you can mail me a personal check.
