Joey Huffman, keyboardist extraordinaire for almost four decades with some of the biggest artists/bands in music*, has always been the first one to play a benefit or help out a person in need. Now he needs our help.

Joey was diagnosed with a brain tumor on 10/1/2013 and it must be surgically removed immediately. The surgery which will cost $80,000 (estimate from hospital). He does not have private medical insurance. The medical bills are already starting to pile up from the tests, specialists, etc. that were needed to even get the diagnosis and then a surgery set, with an avalanche to follow.

So many people have asked how they can help, where to send a donation, etc. - so here we are. Joey is the most humble person in the world who never asks for help, but has given the o.k. to start this for him.

100% of the money donated goes directly to Joey via wire transfer.

Joey is one of my best friends and I've known him for 25 years - just so ya'll know who I am and why I started this GoFundMe campaign.

If you can help, it is appreciated beyond words (at least none that I could ever try to write). Prayers are priceless.

Thank you is not enough, but thank you, thank you, thank you - from myself, Joey and his family (by blood or by choice).

Val (Ambassador of Brain Tumor Annihilation)

* Joey has played with/been a member of: Hank Williams Jr (currently), Matchbox 20, Soul Asylum, Butch Walker, Drivin n Cryin, Lynyrd name just a very few. He is credited on over 150 albums, with many that went gold & platinum.

Video: Joey playing with Matchbox 20 - "Don't Let Me Down" (Beatles Cover) - 3:30 starts Joey's solo which ROCKS! :)

Contact Musicares, I was helped by the LA office, Harold Owens is the managing director, He helped me and so many artist. They are apart of the Grammys and RIAA and exists solely to help musicians w/ healthcare and substance abuse. The Austin office is also great Ananda Moss runs that one, I have no experience w/ Nashville, ultimately Harold decides.

He came through surgery with no cancer. Let's hope recovery is quick and smooth so he can get back to playing!
