Help Wounded Vet Randal Wright

About Marine LCpl Randal Wright:

Relatively few make the real sacrifices necessary for the American people to retain their freedom. In 2010, twenty- three year old Marine LCpl Randal Wright was severely injured while deployed to Afghanistan. While securing a compound in the Helmand Province he stepped on an IED, (Improvised Explosive Device), taking off both legs above the knee and most of his left hand. Fortunate to be alive, he returned home as a triple amputee and currently suffers from severe PTSD. Unfortunately the prosthetics that were given to Randal by the VA (Veteran’s Administration) cause infections and are extremely painful resulting in his being confined to a wheelchair. Lance Corporal Randal Wright risked his life and sacrificed limbs for every American. Although we can never fully repay the debt we owe Randal, now it’s time for us to show our thanks in a small way by giving him back a small piece of personal freedom he so selflessly gave for all of us.

Mission:

The Leathernecks Marine Corps Motorcycle Club is partnering with the SSG Matthew A Pucino Foundation, LTD to give Randal back a piece of himself that was lost that tragic day in Afghanistan.  Our mission is to get Randal out on the open road on a custom trike along with a prosthetic device for his hand so that he is able to ride.  “Ride therapy” helps heal the soul in a way that no doctor is able. This will not only help Randal heal psychologically but will also give him the flexibility to get around without relying on other people. This trike will represent freedom to Randal in ways that most of us could never and will never understand. In the words of Roland Paquette, a Special Forces Green Beret double amputee who recently starting riding again, “…the feeling is incredible…I got on, took off and it felt like another part of me was back…” See Roland’s story here:http://www.myfoxboston.com/clip/10337075/4th-annual-motorcycle-ride-honors-memory-of-sgt-matthew-pucino

In order to ride, Randal will need to be fitted for a prosthetic device for his hand.  In the upcoming months he will be busy attending doctors visits to prepare.

The purpose of this page is to raise the funds for the purchase and modification of a custom trike, as well as any unforeseen expenditures for the construction and/or modification of prosthetics as relative to Randal being able to ride. Any additional funds raised will go to the SSG Matthew A Pucino Memorial Foundation Ltd for other combat wounded veterans.

Let’s give back to a hero who has sacrificed much for our freedom! Please donate and share!
