Surgery for Bella the Rescue Pug

We have never asked for money or donations before - and if not for the health of our adorable Bella, we would never think to ask. This is a last resort and we thank you in advance for your time and consideration. And now, we give you, Bella....
Hi everyone! My name is Bella and I am a 9-year old pug...with just a few issues I'm hoping to get taken care of pretty soon.
My new mommy & daddy brought me to my Forever Home in December 2013 from the Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue. At that time, I was in a wonderful foster home in Maryland. I don't like to brag, but despite all of my health issues I have the happy & carefree spirit of a puppy. I love my treats, my stuffed monkey, and most of all, cuddling and being loved on.

So...what's wrong with me? Well, I have a compressed spine and a substantial amount of nerve damage. This makes it very difficult for me to walk because my back legs don't work so great. In fact, I just got a stroller (thanks to Stephen and Matt!) that mommy & daddy walk me in sometimes to keep me from walking too much and making me feel worse. My spinal problems also cause me to get painful UTIs and infections all the time. I have been to my doctor so many times since Dec. 2013 and have been on constant medication for all of the infections I get. All of these issues are because in my younger days, I was a puppy mill pug which wasn't so great (but I am all happy now!)....

The doctor says I need to have surgery to ease my discomfort and the pain that I am sometimes in. The cost of an MRI and procedure is very expensive and mommy & daddy are looking for help to make me all better. They're already having so much trouble paying for all of my vet visits and medicine. The doctor says that this surgery would be an enormous help to my quality of life.
