Glendora High School 2014 Rose Parade

Donation protected

We are thrilled to announce that the Glendora High School Tartan Band and Pageantry is the only band from California chosen to participate in the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California!

Our students will proudly represent not only our community, but also the entire state of California. The expected audience for the 2014 broadcast is over a billion people, making this parade the largest community showcase in the world! Our students will need the support of our businesses to participate in this exciting opportunity.

The average GHS band student marches over 500 miles during his or her high school career! Marching band activities typically involve five to six days per week during the season "“ an impressive commitment to fitness and team spirit. This hard work has paid off with repeated national recognition. You may remember that we marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in 2010 and are celebrating our 50th year since our first march down Colorado Boulevard.

The band usually self-funds its activities with student fundraisers and concession stand sales, but transporting 150 students to Pasadena, California requires more help toward the approximately $1600 per student it will take to participate. This invitation to perform is similar to a high school sports team earning the right to participate in the national championship tournament. Our goal is to reward the children's dedication by raising enough money to assist all band members in getting to Pasadena.

Thank you in advance for your kind donations!!
