Our unique annual events, held during the week of International Women's Day change lives!  We've set five world precedents as the largest single outreach of it's kind.  Events are always COMPLETELY FREE for all participants to ensure there are no barriers to participation.

Since 201 over 45,300 people have enjoyed our epic free community events and 7,217 females of all ages have flown for the first time in a small aircraft - FREE!  If you've been following our growth you're likely aware that our awesome annual events are completely free for everyone (male and female) thanks to the financial support of community-minded partners keen for participants to have this incredible experience in the hopes they will be inspired and informed.

What you may not be aware of is the extensive and year-round work and incidental expenses required behind the scenes in order for these events to happen. We don't yet have a regular source for funding and making ends meet is always a challenge!

In order to build connections, raise awareness of our initiatives and solicit the sponsors, dignitaries, participants and volunteers necessary to continue growing our unique hands-on events:

• Countless presentations at school and community events are given
• Conferences and meetings must be attended to offer proposals and initiatives and meet vital contacts
• Active participation in mentoring events
• Development of year-round activities and hands-on programs to raise awareness of opportunities open to women in Aviation, Aerospace, Marine & Defence
• Countless hours of research, communication and compiling materials
• Ongoing development of the www.girlsfly2.ca website, social media tools and other promotional media
• Endless opportunities are pursued every day

Why your financial help is important to support this initiative and action gender and cultural diversity in Aviation, Aerospace, Marine and Defence:  Despite the best recruiting and retention efforts of many, women continue to represent the minority in the technical trades and top executive/command positions within these industries.

For example, out of 25,413 professional pilots in Canada, only 5.8% of them are women. Out of 17,278 aircraft engineers, only 2.3% of them are women.  Women account for only 4% of the technical trades and only 3% of the top command positions within the Canadian Forces are women. The story is similar around the world.

From the numbers it would be tempting to conclude that women are either uninterested or unwelcome in these fields.  Instead, studies have shown that a common perception persists that aviation, aerospace, marine and defence are industries reserved for men.  From an early age, male and female alike are affected by this perception message, which is continually reinforced by observation (lack of change), media, social media and advertising.

The Sky’s No Limit – Girls Fly Too! employs a hands-on approach to capture the interest and attention of the missing female demographic.

f you've enjoyed our events, and/or appreciate what we're doing here please help us continue by making a contribution to our gofundme campaign and encourage others to do the same. If you can't afford to donate yourself, you can still help by spreading the word of our campaign, and our awesome events.

Your donated funds will go towards the ongoing operating costs that make all this happen, and allow me to accept invitations to continue this work and develop projects that will eventually be available across Canada.

Thank you for your support!

About the Founder:  My name is Kirsten Brazier, and I'm an Airline Transport rated pilot (airplanes and helicopters ) from Vancouver, BC.

With over 24 years of flying experience, I'ves enjoyed a diverse career flying across Canada, US and the Caribbean on wheels, floats, skis and skids as well as two-crew operations in both aeroplanes and helicopters.

My story: I left home at an early age due to home life troubles, quit school and set out on a path that could have easily lead to a tragic ending. Instead, I accidently discovered a passion for aviation and thus began the journey of self-discovery and purpose that brings me here today seeking your help.

As a rare woman in aviation, I firmly believe it's time for change and I'm doing something about it.  In 2012 I founded The Sky's No Limit - Girls Fly Too! to  improve the industry in which I chose to make my career.  You can read more about what we do at www.girlsfly2.ca
