George P. Karoussis Memorial Fund
Donation protected
All donations in lieu of flowers will be used to start a fund in memory of my father, George Peter Karoussis, a wonderful man, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
All funds will be used for the renovation and restoration project of his birth place village church, Saint Taxiarchis, located in the small but beautiful village of Nenitouria in the northern part of the island of Chios, Greece that he left at the tender age of 16 to help support his family.
The church of Saint Taxiarchis is a beautiful 200 year old traditional Greek Orthodox Church that we were so fortunate to visit as a family last summer (2015). The church recently underwent internal and external renovations, but requires further work to restore the inside beauty that it deserves.
All funds will will be used for this ongoing project and any surplus will go towards the other seven (7) smaller churches within the village, most of which also are in dire need of renovation and repair.
My father was an amazing man. Although he is not my biological father, he was my lifesaver, childhood protector and real life hero.
Thank you all for your support and generosity. My hope is that someday you will visit Saint Taxiarchis in Nenitouria, Chios, Greece and set eyes upon the beauty of this amazing church. Perhaps you will also have the honor to light a candle in this amazing house of God in my father's memory! Thank you, Alex and family..
