As many of you know, Gena Davis was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. Initially, the hope was that with surgery, and aggressive treatment, her cancer would be curable. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Gena's cancer has metastazized, and her treatment plan has shifted to providing "comfort care", with heavy focus on the quality of her life. Gena's biggest wish has been to visit Italy with her daughter, Jodi Danette Davis. The two have signed up for an AMAZING tour to Italy with Rick Steves. The tour is scheduled for August 30th-September 11th, which is fast approaching!!! Because of the special accommodations Gena will require in order to make this trip a success, the costs are going to surpass that of a typical vacation. It has been strongly reccommended by Gena's doctor that a person with some level of medical expertise assist on the trip. The cost of the tour alone $3,200, which does not include airfare or daily incidentals. The estimated cost per person for the trip is $8,000. In the past few days Jodi and Gena haved moved in together in order for jodi to assist with the supports Gena is needing. The unexpected costs for both of them have been extremely overwhelming! Wage loss alone will, and has had a profound impact. We are setting the goal at $30,000 to help make sure that ALL the boxes on Gena's wish list get ticked :) Every bit helps, and is extremely appreciated.
