Tess's Veterinary Fund

Donation protected
Our sweet, Border Collie, Tess has been diagnosed with a right lobe carcinoma  in her right lung.  She hasn't been quite right for a while and has been in and out of the vet's office over the past few months. This was odd for a dog who is on a raw diet and has always been the picture of health. Her bloodwork a couple of months ago showed that she was anemic. She did test positive for erlichiosis, a tick disease which can cause anemia. So she was sent home with doxycycline and instructions to add more liver to her diet. While on treatment for doxy she spiked a fever and had a mild seizure. I rushed her back to the vet.  Tess does have spinal spondylosis, which is managed by regular chiropractic care. But I thought maybe she was having problems with her neck or a disc and that perhaps that may have caused the collapse , so I requested a neck x-ray. On impulse, I asked them to x-ray her whole back for her chiropractor.

The following day Tess had another appointment to see one of her wonderful vet/chiropractor, and during that appointment her regular  vet came in to let me know that Tess's X-rays  showed that her chest cavity was filled with fluid and that there was a large mass pushing her heart over and up towards her spine.
She has been  diagnosed with a lung carcinoma.  This is the primary tumor.

Her current treatment is Dr. Marty Goldstein's Cancer Formula, an acupuncture  protocol that is targeting the tumor, vibrational healing, ramped up nutrition, green juices, a large variety of supplements, reiki and chiropractic work.

Tess has the most wonderful vets working with her. And  we are  so grateful for their guidance and support through this challenge.

Her last re-check has shown  improvement. The aggressive lung tumor has NOT gotten any bigger, and her heart is lower and in a better place.  The fluid in her chest cavity is gone. Her appetite has improved dramatically nd her spark is back. She periodically detoxes from the cancer formula and then she bounces back.

So many of you have asked how you can help Tess.  We have used up her emergency vet fund, her Care Credit and her pet insurance.  We are looking at a lot more vet bills and two costly supplements are supposed to be added to her protocol next week, with a third acupuncture treatment on Friday.  As long as Tess is in the game and the light is there than we will give her every chance we can to help her recover from this illness.

It's been a couple of months since Tess's diagnosis and I have never deen a dog with so much will to live. Please, help us to help Tess. Any help would be most appreciated. All of you who know her, know what a special girl she is.  We have a long way to go,  but we are hopeful.  Any help would be so very  much appreciated.

When Tess's veterinary  expenses have been met, any remaining donations will lovingly  be paid forward to help another beloved  canine companion  in need.
With so much appreciation , thank you,  thank you, thank you!! <3

A little more about Tess - Tess came from the most amazing Border Collie Rescue called Glen Highland Farm in NY. I adopted her when she was almost 3 years.  Tess spent the  first 2 years of her life in a crate in someone's garage in PA.  A woman who was affiliated with Glen Highland saw Tess through the partially opened garage door.  After several months she was able to get her previous owners to surrender her to the rescue.

It took Tess many months of careful rehabilitation before she was considered to be adoptable as she had major separation issues.

Tess and I go everywhere together.  She is  studio  dog extraordinaire and is the inspiration for many of my Border Collie paintings. She goes to the barn, when I teach riding lessons, to the office and bookstore where  I work. She is a very popular and loved girl at The Book Cove in Pawling, NY where customers come in just to see Tess on the days that she is there.

Tess is a mother to all kinds of babies, and has taken care of very young kittens who needed mothers.

Tess is an agility dog, herding dog ( a real working farm dog) and a total ball dog.

Tess LOVES her ball and toys.
