Friends For Mike Ouimet...

Donation protected
We, friends for Mike Ouimet, set this page up to support our dear friend who continues to battle life's challenges and never, ever asks for any help.

Mike's journey through this life since age 12 has been incredibly difficult, but just as his Mom and Dad did many years ago, he continues to fight with valor and integrity to enjoy life to the fullest.

Now, Mike faces one of the biggest hurdles in life going on a trial plan/medication to hopefully rid him of cancer he already valiantly beat in 2013.

Any/all contributions here will support Mike through this journey and allow him to enjoy life while taking on this incredible challenge. This includes a new service dog (Mike lost his wonderful dog Gideon last year) and a new wheelchair to replace a 15 year old chair Mike has been using daily.

We, friends for Mike Ouimet, appreciate any support you can offer and promise all support will be used directly by Mike in this journey through cancer...

A Note From Michael:

Hey y'all... So I've done my best to personally let most of you know that I'm about to head back into battle with the big "C".

We all know just how hard it is to ask for help, however, A good friend once told me that when I say "No" to someones offer of help -I'm denying them the opportunity to give of themselves. We all get by with a little help from our friends...

At this time, I am no longer in remission. Although nothing is certain with cancer treatment, I am hoping to extend my lease on life again.

I will start a trial chemo soon. I have been on the waiting list for the last 3 months, and got the call today that a spot has opened up. I'm next in line... Later this week, Ill be meeting with the Doc's to learn what to expect once I start.

I've exhausted all options of conventional treatment with known results.

I'm gearing up to give it my all, and hope that the trial will end this battle for good... Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, Hoyt Hottel owner of Xtremely Board along side some close friends have been working to help me cross some things of the "bucket list" we all keep in the back of our minds. We have a trip to Hawaii planned, adaptive surfing, wake boarding, biking and skiing, as well as some other adventures in the works.

I'm also applying for a service dog, and can't wait to have a pup in my life again, Service Dogs are not only companions, but can perform some pretty amazing tasks. They require intense training, and the new owner is responsible to come up with half of the cost ($10,000.00).

My family of friends are rallying around me to try to make some of these things possible. We have this online account for donations available, and as hard as it is for me to ask- any help would mean more that I could ever explain. 110% of donations go directly to me.

So here I am reaching out. I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, and crushing every day along the way. I wouldn't have made it this far without you all. Much love and thanks!!!

Michael.
