The Milhassi Project

Donation protected
Felipe Riechelmann Milhassi was born to parents Carolina Riechelmann and Marcelo Milhassi on June 12, 2013 -- 15 weeks premature. Born at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Felipe was transferred to intensive care at Lurie Children's Hospital. At 25 weeks of fetal development, his lungs and capillaries are still forming. Even though Felipe is so small, he has fought and overcome many struggles including multiple infections and internal bleeding. Felipe remains at Lurie in an effort to build his immune system to the point where he will be strong enough to go home to his parents. We hope that he will be going home in November.

Marcelo and Carolina spend as much time as possible visiting Felipe daily. You probably know Marcelo from his work as an artist, musician and a set builder at Crate & Barrel. Carolina works at AXA Assistance, helping travelers around the world. Both have an incredible positivity. In celebration of this family's endurance, and to return the warmth and generosity they have shown to others, we come together in an effort to help ease their financial hardship. Please join us for a fundraiser in support of Felipe.

Marcelo and Carolina remain positive and look forward to welcoming their son home this fall. Our goal is to raise funds needed to cover medical bills, hospital expenses, and the time away from work to care for Felipe once he is able to go home.
