WWOOF Education

Hi, I'm Katrina from a small town in rural Virginia! I am currently living in Northern California, volunteering on a small homestead where I have learned to raise chickens and pigs, and how to milk and care for a small herd of cattle. I am interested in going further  into the world and gaining more knowledge of sustainable living and agriculture in an effort to later share what I know with interested people and to contribute to the community and culture where ever I settle.

I am learning about new farms to volunteer on through WWOOF-World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (www.wwoofusa.org). Farms that are partnered with WWOOF typically provide their volunteers with room and board. What I would like to accomplish with GoFundMe is raising money to help with travel expenses. If I am able to reach my goal, I'd like to head to my next location in the next couple of months to continue my hands on education!

This volunteer journey is important to me because of the value I place in sustainable living. I believe life on Earth follows a cycle and I want to find the best way to fit in without interuppting natures intended flow. Eventually, after a lot of hands on education on various farms and learning different skills I'd like to find a place to start a small sustainable farm and invite people to learn from me. I think it would be awesome to invite people from all kinds of backgrounds to come to a place where they can get back to the Earth. It's been such an incredible experience for me so far and I'm just getting started!
