Design by FiNK start-up fund

Hello everyone. My name is Fred Kroner, but you can call me Fink. I am a 45 year old, Wisconsin born graphic designer, artist, musician, and family man. As my friends and family know, I am currently in school at Herzing University earning my associate’s degree in Graphic Design. I hope to continue on and gain a bachelor’s degree in both print and digital media, and after that, who knows?

But, starting right now, I will be putting together a freelance graphic design business that I am calling Design by FiNK. I want to create illustrations for advertisements, design logo concepts for new businesses and many other design projects. I have been an artist in several different media for most of my life, but turning it into a career is going to be a new thing for me. I’ll be sailing into uncharted territory. So it is my hope that all of you reading this right now will make the journey with me.

I would love to leave my rather uninspiring job as a tool engineer and start my new career as a graphic designer right away, but I simply don’t have the equipment that it will take to make an honest attempt at success. My goal is to get a high-end MacBook Pro, a Thunderbolt display, and a professional quality Epson printer. With all of this in place in my home office I would be able to meet with clients, turn their ideas into beautiful and professional pieces of design, and then print out high-quality mock-ups for them to approve quickly and with much better results than is possible for me to do right now.
