GeekGirls Corp and The Giving Grinch are teaming up to bring you an amazing Cosplay Charity Event! This is a time for all to come together and gather donations for families in need of food, clothing and toys. For this years event we have a special family that we will be focusing on.

The mother of this amazing family was diagnosed with Breast cancer less than a year ago. For a time the cancer was believed to be in remission, giving this family a brief glimmer of hope. This unfortunately is no longer the case. The cancer has not only returned, but has spread to her brain.
As with this type of cancer, prognosis is extremely grim. Her family's brave fight with this disease has left them in severe need. Medical bills, expensive medications, and lost wages have wreaked havok on their savings and more importantly has severely limited the precious quality time they severely need. She has three amazing daughters who are requesting only new shoes, socks, and a some books for Christmas.
The Giving Grinch wants to raise enough money to send this family to Disneyland to spend some much needed quality time together, without the worry of financial burden. The Giving Grinch Cosplay Charity Event has already started to collect donations. We are 90% of the way to our goal..
Some of you may think that I am crazy; but I feel in my heart that if my mom was to not be here tomorrow, I would love to have spent more time having fun with them. What better place to spend time together as a family, without the reminder of all the pain, but Disneyland.
I personal know this family and they are very special to me. I know they would be forever grateful if we, as a community, are able to rally together and collect enough funds to get them there. Please open your hearts and share with others."
We are not disclosing the family name, as we would like to keep this as a surprise for them. We will be presenting this trip to them the night of our event. Please help us during this time to help raise the funds needed for this family.
These funds will greatly improve the financial situation of this family and will make all the difference in creating lasting memories.
