Have you ever heard of Voice Found?
Voice Found is an Ottawa-based, national non-profit organization that is committed to the PREVENTION of Childhood Sexual Abuse and the SUPPORT of adult survivors.
The prevention part is done by educating and empowering individuals to recognize, react and respond appropriately to childhood sexual abuse through the award winning "˜Stewards of Children' program. This program is delivered as an interactive 3 hour workshop and provides the tools, knowledge and resources that parents, responsible adults and organizations need to help stop child sexual abuse.
Voice Found is currently in great need of more properly trained facilitators that can effectively amplify the message.
And if you guessed correctly, I would like to become a Stewards of Children Facilitator, which is a volunteer position within Voice Found.
And here's the catch. In order to become an Authorized Facilitator, I must attend a Facilitator Workshop. The cost of the workshop is $350. And it's offered in Rochester, NY which will add to the amount of money required, as I'll have to pay for my own travel expenses.
This is why I'm setting my goal amount to $450. If the workshop does end up happening in Ottawa, I will donate extra money ($100) to Voice Found.
I believe in protecting our children and ensuring they have the childhood they deserve. That's why I'm reaching to you, my friends.
Please help me reach my goal so I can help protect all children by giving those in charge of caring for them, the proper tools to recognize the alarm signs and avoid sexual abuse from happening.

PS: In case you were wondering, the page title is a play on "I Wanna Be a Producer" ,a song from the award-winning play (and movie) The producers. It has nothing to do with Voice Found or Stewards of Children but it's a very catchy song and I happen to like it!
