Citizen Cain.

My name is Alexandria Winstead. Me, my husband and son have two amazing dogs one happens to be a pitbull named Cain. He has recently been blasted all over the local news because the neighbors son got in the middle of a fight between their dog and my Cain. He did go to the hospital but when released did an interview with the news and showed his leg and though I have not seen it, have been told it looks like a scratch not a bite. The news is blowing this up to be a pitbull attack when it is clearly not. A lot of the comments show that people do think out of the box and clearly believe that this does not all add up. Their dog was in Cains domain. He was defending my husbands grandmother even though he jumped the gate their dog was in HIS yard. Mind you this dog has shown aggression towards Cain and our other dog pretty girl. He has also charged my husband and raised hairs at me and my son. The shelter our Cain was taken too loved him dearly. When we went to visit him today he has a huge gash on his leg and his other I believe to be broken. The animal clinic who graciously took him in for us said it looks like this was more than just a dog fights doing. His wounds are extreme. The other dog involved was not even seen and that is coming from the animal officer that we spoke to. I have seen that the owners of the other dog did not even take him to the vet but "cleaned him up at home". I am sick to my stomach to see our protective sweet dog being named a vicious attacker when he was only doing what a dog should have done. If he hadn't barked those few times to get the neighbors dog away from us there is no telling what could have happened on those occasions. I am seeking help any kind of help I can get even if it's a finger in the right direction. My husband attends court at Mobile Municple Court downtown Mobile Alabama on the 30th. I want our side of the story told. I have contacted the news station that did this news report (WKRG ch5) and waiting on a call back. ALL funds recieved through this will be towards Cains vet bill.
