Christa Abrams Memorial fund

On April 12th, heaven gained a beautiful angel and everyone who knew her lost an amazing person in their lives. Christa was everything you could ever hope that a person could be. She was loving, generous, compassionate, selfless, funny, positive, and a true light in this world. Christa was also the most amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and I can't even begin to describe how greatly she will be missed.

They say you find out a person's true colors when they are in the toughest struggles of their life. Well, let me tell you about Christa's "true colors".  Through the countless chemo treatments, the dissapointing scan results, the nausea and fatigue, the countless trips to the ER in the middle of the night, and her fate in the hands of medicine and miracles, Christa never complained and she continued to think about everyone else. She was the person who would call me from the hospital to see how I was feeling when I was sick with a cold. She was the person who struggled to pay her rising medical bills but would still find $5 to spare for the homeless man on the corner. She was the friend who wanted to make my unborn child a baby blanket while she sat at her IVF doctor appointments struggling to get pregnant herself. She was the mother who sat at the kitchen table fighting excruciating back pain with a smile on her face so she could make sugar cookies with her daughter.

Thats who Christa was.

She showed up for EVERYONE else. Now it's our turn to show up for her.

While we all prepare to lay this beautiful soul to rest, we can't help but worry for Grant and Lexie (her husband and 2yr old daughter). Grant has always worked graveyard shifts at work and although Christa's family is more then willing to watch and care for Lexie, he is trying to create a more permanent situation that will allow Lexie to continue going to the daycare she has been attending during the days and be home with him at night. His job currently does not offer any daytime shifts. Lexie needs stability and most of all, she needs her daddy at home with her right now. Unfortunately, the world does not stop when you lose your wife and your best friend and the bills will continue to pile up.  This fund is to help Grant with bills and daily expenses while he embarks on trying to find a daytime job so that he can be home for dinners, bath times, and bed times with his beautiful little girl. This fund is also to help go towards daycare expenses in order to keep her in the same loving environment she has been in for the last two years.  In Christa's final few days, her greatest worries consisted of Lexie. Please help us in easing these worries as she looks down on us from heaven. I beg you. No amount is too small and EVERY little bit will help so much.

Thank you.
