Hi all! We've just come back from...
Hi all!
We've just come back from Canada.. and we had an amazing time! We'd gone as I was nominated for the Performing Arts award at the International Naturally Autistic People Awards in Maple Ridge, BC.. and... we won!!!
The trophy itself is made of really cool looking stylized glass; it has a plaque on the bottom with my name on it, as well as the specific award sponsor (in this case, the George Rossler family). It's an interesting piece..

It's thanks to all of you that we were able to reach Canada and collect this award. Thank you so much. This award is dedicated to you all also.. and it's a privilege to accept it on behalf of all of us. :)
Some photos of our trip are available on my Facebook page. You can see them by visiting the below link. You don't need to have a Facebook account to view them:

Sorry; no official pictures of the event are available for viewing on that album. They can be viewed at this webpage:

A video interview of one of the award winners is available on YouTube. It's partially in Romanian (due to the winner being Romanian and the news company there to film him was also from the same area.. more video available for other winners and in English shortly) but has a few English bits.. as well as my ugly mug:

Official DVD's of the event will be coming soon, and will be available from the Naturally Autistic ANCA official website, which you can visit by clicking here.
We had an amazing time; met many incredible people both on the spectrum and not, performed in a variety of places.. and made friends for life. And it wouldn't have been possible without this platform. So again.... thank you.
I've been asked to visit Canada again next year.. this time as one of the hosts of the event. Oh boy! A fantastic opportunity but.. here comes the stress again! The fun never ends..
Please feel free to visit me on Facebook. I'd love to keep in contact with you; GoFundMe doesn't really have a social media side on that scale so please feel free to send me a message here:

Until next time, thank you again and all the very best!

Hi everyone!
We've managed to reach the complete goal (and a little extra!) on the GoFundMe website! Thank you SO much for all of your support.
We're going to bring this award back for all of those who kindly donated, supported, and believed in us.
I won't be able to update the GoFundMe page very often but I have a Facebook music page @ http://www.facebook.com/scottjamesmusic that will be posting everything to do with the awards and how it goes, etc. Info will also be available on my new website, coming soon with the help of a friend of mine who just so happens to be a website wizard..
But for now, thank you so much for helping us reach our goal.. we wouldn't have been able to do it without you all; your support, kindness, and love.
Thank you.
All the best,
Scott

Hi guys, Sorry for not updating but...
Hi guys,
Sorry for not updating but we've been so busy lately. Just wanted to again pass on our heartfelt thanks for your assistance in helping us reach our goal to go to Canada.
We'll be closing this fundraiser on Friday, so this is just a heads-up.
Thank you so much again and we hope you're all well,
Scott

Hi folks,
I'm really not the kind of guy to ask for support like this, but we're in quite a bind!
I've been doing a lot of charity work with Autism over the past few years; performing up and down the country, speaking out and advocacy, raising funds for and supporting Autism support groups and charities worldwide. Last year I released a charity single, 'Through My Eyes', to raise funds for Autism causes.
This year I’ve been given the chance to attend the International
Naturally Autistic People Awards, Convention & Festival as a
nominee for the performing arts award (October 19th-21st). This
category (as well as the others) has nominees from across the world,
from the UK, to Canada, the US, Australia, and even India! The event is being hosted by Mayor Daykin in Maple Ridge, Canada.
The problem? We can't get there alone to see if we can clinch it! We have ten weeks to gather all the funding for the trip and hotel stays while we're there: a total of around £3000 for two (I can't really travel alone, as I am autistic myself and don't cope too well in high populations).
I have never asked for a penny in payment for my Autism work, so this is somewhat out of our price range. This would be an absolutely massive thing for my work and it would be absolutely amazing to go, but we've got such little time that i'm having to request help from you.
So i'm asking you: if you would be so kind as to chip in even a little, it would go a long way to helping me realize my dreams of raising Autism awareness, acceptance, and respect, help me go even further in my musical career, and help me further my work and reach.
Any extra raised (if we should be so lucky) will of course be ploughed back into my Autism work, whether it be donated back into Autism, or put into more musical projects to raise funds for charities.
My sponsors receive publicity from the event (should they choose to opt-in to this), be named as a sponsor of the show, and be promoted throughout the event and it's subsequent shows on radio and beyond, so this is a great opportunity for businesses to grab some publicity while showing they support awareness and acceptance of something that's becoming ever more prevalent in society every day.
If you're unable to donate, we would really appreciate a share on Facebook and/or Twitter. We're really pushed for time so every little helps.
Also, if you'd like to donate but don't like/can't use the GoFundMe system, please feel free to e-mail me at scott@scottjames.org or via Facebook and we can work something out.
Thank you for your time, and thanks for reading!
