IN SHORT: We have 10 leaders from our local CR program that are raising money to attend a massive CR training summit in California this Summer. This training helps our people lead this program effectively to aid those struggling with addictions, hurts, and other struggles. We have to raise money for transportation, housing, and registration for the event itself. Thank you for considering a donation - any little bit helps.
FULL-STORY: CR at Highland Baptist is a local chapter of a world-wide program, a faith-based 12-Step program for ALL habits, hurts, and hang-ups (not just drugs and alcohol recovery, but literally anything that is holding someone back from growing in the faith and as a person).
New Mexico is full of people struggling with a multitude of addictions and struggles, but also has a higher level of meth addicts than most places in America.
Our program is staffed by volunteers (lay-people) who have signed up for the difficult task of ministering to between 60 and 100 men, women, teens, and children each week, many of whom are currently experiencing the worst times of their lives.
As you can imagine, these volunteers need training to handle such an important and difficult task.
Each year, the original CR hosts 2 nation-wide training events. We are raising money in order to send a team of 10 volunteers to this training event, covering the costs of registration, housing for 5 nights, and transportation (both to/from, and during the event).
We are a non-profit ministry of the local church and rely solely on the generosity of donors to operate, which includes occasional training needs.
(NOTE: CR at Highland Clovis qualifies as not-for-profit (501c3) under the umbrella of Highland Baptist Church.)
