Our goal has been to make 100 productions from
July 2014 - JANUARY 2018

This infamous picture is the street our office is on (DEVINE STREET) 2 minutes from our location.

For those of you who don't know about us the South Carolina Film Institute (WWW.SCFILM.TV) is a non-profit organization dedicated to involving the community in films and television.   MOST NOTABLY educating the youth about the importance of reading.

On Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015, I walked into my office and all I seen was devastation. Broken windows, sewage water, and ruined equipment decorated our office. For the first 24 hours we were hopeless. After talking to our friends we decided to create a gofundme campaign and decided to be proactive.

We have been in business for a year and within a year we have shot over 20 productions including movies, commercials, and music videos. We have included over 300 members of the community in our film productions from July 2014 -July 2015. (www.scfilm.tv/productions)

Most notably a movie we filmed called "PROVERBS".(Inspired by Christopher Pittman Story)..

(CAMERAS, SOUND EQUIPMENT, LENSES, LIGHTS) washed up in the storm.  The equipment alone took us 2 years to accumulate.
The water was almost 3 feet high within the office ruining EVERYTHING,,you can actually look at the pictures to see how high the water was. We obviously don't have flood insurance.
We are still figuring out what is salvageable and the floor, electrical wiring for outlets, and wall have to be replaced the costs are going to be unimaginable. It is already tough running a film business in Columbia, SC...
We are asking the entire community of filmmakers and non filmmakers to help us restore the only Film Institute in the City of Columbia. We train tons of USC students and non students in the community as apart of our Internship program.
We also house many low income and artists at our additional property "THE FILM HOUSE" only 3 blocks away.
We are asking for $30,000 to purchase new state of the art equiment and if we raise the money we will be filming another feature film with money with plans to involve another 200 - 300  people in the State of South Carolina and North Carolina.
New Cameras, Sound Equipment, Lenses..everything we need to make high quality productions and enough money to pay actors and professional filmmakers for our crew. We also want to start renting out equipment to local filmmakers and college students raising the money will give us ability to do that.

We also want to reshoot the courtroom scene in  "PROVERBS" in which we will be in need of 100 actors.
Raising this money will completely change the Art and Film community in South Carolina forever. We are also looking at a bigger location for our film studio when money is raised.
We are accepting cameras, sound equipment, office equipment, printers, and/or anything that can be used for business or filmmaking purposes.
