Caring for Children Playground

Here's the situation:
CARING for Children is community-based nonprofit that serves nearly 1,200 abused and neglected children and families in crisis each year. CFC's Reddick Road facility is home to their Foster Care and Mental Health programs. Nearly 900 kids regularly visit the Reddick office annually to see their caseworker or counselor. Many of these kids have suffered through years of abuse or neglect at the hands of their parents or caregivers and have been removed from their homes. They're victims - growing up in a child welfare system.
We need your help!
The current playground structure at Reddick is old and falling apart. The wooden frame is rotting, rusting nails and sharp objects are exposed, climbing boards are splitting - making it unsafe for children. For the past few years, staff have prevented our kids from using the old playground. The area surrounding the playground needs repair to make the site usable. Landscaping, deck repair and improving access and outside lighting would allow CFC to once again utilize this area.
The creation of a safe playground area will not only reduce that sterile "clinical feel" and create more of a kid-friendly atmosphere by offering children a fun place to play; but it will also provide a therapeutic place where counselors can do play therapy with these troubled children and help them release their hurt and fears to begin healing.
Volunteers are coming together and planning to raise a playground during the weekend of May 1st - May 3rd, 2015 - IF we can raise the money to buy the playground equipment and other materials.
