Facing the Needs of Our Community

Tax deductible
Community Enhancement Collaboration, Inc., (“CEC”) a non-profit organization located in the Washington Park neighborhood of Hollywood, FL, invites the caring public to join CEC in celebrating the unveiling of the organization’s new van and website

Special fundraising event scheduled to be held at 5:30pm on June 2, 2016 at the Washington Park Service Center, 5648 Wiley Street, Hollywood, Florida 33023.
The theme for this special fundraising event is “CEC . . . Facing the Needs of Our Community.” Please make plans now to be with CEC for this special event. The organization’s goal is to raise $50,000 to help fund its ongoing weekly and annual community programs. CEC has no paid employees, so by supporting CEC, 100% of your donations go toward directly serving families in need in our community.

Supporters who attend the event will be served food, while listening to the testimonies of those who receive support from CEC talk about their goals and what role CEC plays in assisting them in their lives. Future projects that CEC is looking toward will also be presented.

The event is open to the entire community and food, as always with CEC, is complimentary. Through this event, CEC seeks to build and strengthen CEC’s relationships with individuals, businesses and other service organizations who make efforts to help make a difference in the community and to extend an opportunity to more partners who wish to become a part of CEC’s “Envelope Pledge Wall program.”

“We are thrilled to have the support of partners such as Josh Levy of Hollywood Kia, Bruno Dede of Metro Signs, Aron Lewis, Owner of FabTech, LLC., and Alon Barzakay, Esq. of the Barzakay Law Firm. After taking a tour of CEC’s operation and observing our hard work, these partners suggested to us that CEC could build greater community awareness of our work if our work van were repainted and reintroduced with graphics that would share CEC’s story with the public,” says founder and president, Nadine McCrea. “Their passion and dedication to help us improve the outreach of our small, grassroots organization is a blessing! They gave us marketing ideas and also inspired us to redesign our website www.cecwashpark.org with a new “donations” feature that enables our community partners to more easily support our mission on an ongoing basis.”

CEC’s primary program is its “Client Choice Food Program” which serves donated groceries and produce to more than 9,600 families each year. The Client Choice Food Program food pantry is open Wednesdays and Fridays. With donations from Feeding South Florida, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the City of Hollywood, Hollywood Minuteman Press, Hollywood Women’s Club, CAMP Community Association Management Professionals and local grocers like Winn-Dixie and Publix, CEC volunteers sort through the items and create a free supermarket atmosphere for clients. Last year CEC’s Client Choice Food Program distributed more than 258,000 pounds of food to people in need, right here in our own community!

CEC appreciates the support of all its partners over the many years since CEC’s establishment, with special thanks to those who donated the funds which enabled us to purchase and renew our van and our website: Andre McAden, Alon Barzakay, Aron Lewis, FabTech, LLC., Barbara Hayes, Bruno Dede, Catherine Evanoff, David & Patty Wilock*, Erwin A.
