“I'm Lucky I'm In Love With My Best Friend - Jason Mraz”

I met Brittney 8 years ago; we fell in love, and have been inseparable ever since. She is one of the most kind hearted and unselfish people you could hope to meet and she’s always willing to help in any way that she can. She is a loving, honest, strong, and brave, risk taker who is always looking for a new adventure. I love her will all my heart and would do anything for her. But recently I was faced with a horrible situation; she is being faced with a battle that I can’t fight for her.

At the young age of 24, Brittney suffered from a stroke and while hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center in July 2014 she was diagnosed with Moyamoya.

Moyamoya disease is a rare, progressive cerebrovascular disorder caused by blocked arteries at the base of the brain in an area called the basal ganglia. Without surgery, the majority of individuals with Moyamoya disease will experience mental decline and multiple strokes because of the progressive narrowing of arteries. Without treatment, Moyamoya disease can be fatal as the result of intracerebral hemorrhage.

The last few months have been a bit of a life changing roller coaster for Brittney, however throughout the ongoing hospital visits and challenges Brittney has faced these obstacles with an optimistic outlook and a positive attitude.

Fortunately she had insurance but, her insurance did not cover all or even most of her costs. I was informed that through this site I could receive gifts of prayer, financial assistance, love, and support for Brittney. This fundraising effort is to help raise enough funds to pay for her future brain surgery and to help alleviate some of her financial burden incurred as a result of this serious illness. Unfortunately during this time Brittney is not able to work much and until her surgery is complete doctors recommend things remain this way. She’s a fighter and wants to be back on track, fast and though she has never had to ask for help before this experience has humbled her in doing so.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and we thank you in advance for your support. These are not only blessings to her current journey but things that she will carry in her heart forever and we pray that God will bless you all in return.

Please, if you’ve taken the time to read her story, even if you yourself can’t contribute, do us the favor and share this link. It just maybe the help she needs that’ll make a difference.
