Are you familiar with Lyme Disease? Did you know that Lyme Disease can seriously affect your central nervous system? It can mimic symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. It can often take years to present itself. It makes you weak, dizzy, spastic, feel crazy...it steals who you are.
10 months ago my best friend, a piece of my heart, was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. She was also diagnosed with a "co-infection" one that is very similar to malaria called Bartonella. This disease has ravaged her. Stolen her energy, her smile and her ability to be an active part of her own family.
The awesome news is after months of getting nowhere she is developing a great team of doctors and starting new medication. She was also accepted into one of the country's leading treatment centers located in Washington. She NEEDS this to get her life back.
What can you do? Well, the treatment center is expensive and not covered by insurance. Much of her medication locally is covered, but not enough. Not nearly enough. They have spent so much already trying to get help, they cannot do this alone.
The truth is, they don't know how much treatment will cost. It can cost a lot more than what we are hoping to raise, but this is at least a start to the path of her coming back stronger.
Do you know Beth? If so, you know she is selfless and is always willing to help someone out. She is the best listener, she is an amazing mother. She is loved immensely by her husband and family. You don't know Beth? Well...you just learned a bit about her, and there is so much more to her that is being taken, and we (her husband, her parents, myself and most of all her children) want her back.
