Hello guys and girls. Let me introduce myself, my name is Carlene. I have a big idea, a massive idea. But in order to do this I need to raise some money first.

I plan to set up a charity, but I have one problem. In order to set up my charity I need to prove to the charity commission that I am able to bring in an annual income for it of £5000.
When this happens I can re-apply to start my charity and fund-raise alot more, get grants etc.
So I guess you’re now probably wondering what my charity is...? Let me explain....
I am a support worker for young adults with learning disabilities. I have been doing this now for over 3 years. I enjoy my job, a lot! I don't do your normal 9-5 shifts; in fact anyone in care will know that this is not the deal. But we do it, because we care. We don't complain, we work very unsociable hours. But anyway, enough about me... Whilst doing this job I have come across some remarkable people, both individuals with learning disabilities and colleagues. Every single person I have worked with, have different dreams, different ambitions, different interests. But most of them have one thing in common, not being able to achieve what it is they want to do on a day to day basis.
Now what I want to do is open a respite centre (a provision of short-term accommodation in a facility outside the home in which a loved one may be placed. This provides temporary relief to those who are caring for family members, who might otherwise require permanent placement in a facility outside the home) both for living and visiting.
In this respite centre would be a variety of different things. Cinema, local shop, swimming pool, gym, sports hall, sensory room, farm with animals, football pitch, tennis courts, gym, cafe/restaurant, accommodation for live-in, holidays and staff. Plenty plenty more! Everything that I feel would benefit an individual and their own special needs. It would be a bright, energetic environment and full of happy people.
Some individuals would even be able to work on the premises; I have a plan in place for this.
I have plans in place for most things, but to get the ball rolling I need all of YOUR help to get this to happen.
