What is Brand Newz?
We are a multi-media, multi-generational online newz portal and national broadcast focused on elevating and celebrating people through presenting uplifting, empowering, insightful and fulfilling newz and information.
We tell stories about people like you and around the world who are making a positive difference in our communities, from the barbershop on the corner to the parks in the hood.
From a super mentor to a superstar, our newz focuses on highlighting ordinary people doing extraordinary things through Brand Newz Channels such as: Inspiration, Education, Technology, Health, Business, Politics, and more.
Brand Newz is brought to you through the talents of college students, rising communications professionals and supporters just like you, who participate in our hands-on professional development training.
With your help, their work can continue to be displayed on online platforms and cable programming on CW Networks and an ABC affiliate, as well as through an upcoming partnership with Dish Network's Video On Demand.
Brand Newz also serves as a hub for news from other news organizations with similar missions and works with colleges, schools and non-profit organizations around the country to help them bring awareness to their causes.

Brand Newz was conceived more than eight years ago by vizionary Christopher “Play” Martin, who has played an important role in the progression of the Hip Hop culture, which was birthed with the purpose of uplifting people and communities through the sounds and styles of music and the people who made it.
For many years, Hip Hop was the only and most accessible form of media available to underserved communities. This enabled them to hear and tell the stories of what was going in the streets, in their neighborhoods and around the world. Hip Hop served as a voice for the voiceless and Brand Newz will follow this tradition, showing the world that “Hip Hop Has a New Direction” and that direction is up!
Brand New Success Story: Jay Sweet
Director, producer and television personality Jadaun "Jay" Sweet is one of the most recent Brand Newz journalists who have catapulted the hands-on experience and learning opportunities they received at Brand Newz into a successful endeavor. In November of 2014, Jay celebrated the premiere of his short film "Chain Music."
Brand New Success Story: Quincey Chapman
Brand Newz producer and editor Quincey Chapman recently became the founder, director and editor of IndieVidVisuals, a production company based in New York City. Quincey has been behind the scenes of some of the most successful Brand Newz stories, and has applied the skills and experience she has gained to a successful career behind the camera.
