Blade Williams medical fund

Donation protected
Blade Williams, a middle school football player at Licking Valley Schools in the Central Ohio area, was involved in a serious ATV accident in late September 2014 that has made not only local media headlines, but national mentions as well, including publications such as USA Today.

Fortunately, Blade is now out of the hospital but the road is far from ending. Despite the fact the emotional support circle for Blade is strong, expenses stemming from this incident won't be cheap. In addition to hospital bills, other miscellaneous issues come to the forefront we don't always immediately think about, such as the gas his family pays to travel every day to see him, and the money spent on eating out while visiting him. Such expenses can add up very quickly before the first hospital bill even lands in the mailbox. Blade's mother, Mindy Brown, also fights her own personal yet serious health struggles and is putting those off to be with her son in a great time of need. Some may also wish to help ensure Blade has a normal Christmas in 2014 while the family determines how it can deal with any and all expenses related to the accident.

To sum up: this fund is to support Blade Williams' recovery and any expenses incurred for family and their continued support of him. The goal of $10,000 is arbitrary and does not have to be met, and simply visiting this young man and providing physical and spiritual support is fully appreciated by his family the same as any dollar amount provided.

Make no mistake: even if you have nothing to give but your thoughts, merely reading this and saying a prayer for Blade's recovery is just as valuable and appreciated. Still, this is just a chance for anyone who wants to donate be able to do so and help the family of this young, courageous man -- who is fighting this with a strong, unbroken mental spirit -- focus purely on Blade's recovery and eventual return to normalcy, without worrying about the financial woes that are yet to come.

UPDATE: There have been NUMEROUS fund raisers for Blade. It isn't like one or two, but like many. The community galvanized and it made my heart warm. So a little here, a little there, it all adds up. That community at Licking Valley should be so proud of itself for the love and compassion it showed. I know Mindy is thankful. And I thank all of you who helped out. Knowing he is out of the hospital and resuming a normal life the best he can, it is a miracle, one made possible by the love of a community.
