My darling Via needs 3 more...

My darling Via needs 3 more shots before she gets a passing signature on her physical. How she ended up 3 shots short but the twins have all their shots is a mystery; especially since the kids all went in together. But I am sure she will be brave and this is a relatively easy step I guess. Easy for me, I don't have to get the shots! :)

Well, sometimes road blocks are blessings....

Well, sometimes road blocks are blessings. The chest X-rays were not clear and the twins need treatment. How is this a blessing? Even though they aren't clear, the X rays show only that the twins are possible carriers, but not contagious. They will pass their physicals. But more importantly, we can seek medical care for them and get treatment. Nettie's sickness last winter could very well be a result of the previous exposure. So again, not what we wanted, treatments aren't cheap, BUT so thankful to learn this now. And so thankful for little ones who are healthy and happy.

In February 2010 my family grew from 4 to 7.  We brought home 3 lovely children from earthquake ravaged Haiti.  The United States government helped families adopt children that were in process, allowing them to bring them home to their forever families.
The process by which they were allowed through customs is called Humanitarian Parole and we are so grateful that this process was enacted for us.

However, humanitarian parole is a temporary status.  This means that our children, while legally adopted and permanent members of our family, are NOT U. S. citizens.

Much to our surprise and horror, the process to obtain citizenship will cost 1117.00 per child plus 215.00 per child for a Civil Surgeon physical.  With 3 children needing citizenship, we are struggling to make this happen.
It was an expense we weren't prepared for and each time we think we have saved enough to make it happen, something comes up and we are unable to afford it AGAIN.

This is our cry for help.  We have passed the HP deadline and will probably face late penalties.  We have contacted all public officials and representatives that might be able to help us.

Any donation made to this cause will go directly to funding the citizenship process for Via, John and Jeannette.

God Bless You.

Amy
