We were blessed with the birth of our twin babies Laylah and Malachi on march 11th of this year. They were both doing great and growing with leaps and bounds.everything was great until September of this year.We took them to their 6 month checkup with shots and all.On Sept. 19th Laylah was fine when I left at noon to go to work. That evening I received a horrifying phone call while at work: "We are rushing Laylah to the Hospital. We have already called 911!" I was horrified! "what is wrong with my princess? is she going to be ok?" Terrible thoughts were racing through my head as I was rushing home from work! I arrived at home to find my apartment filled with Paramedics, firefighters and police officers! It was terrible. My daughter laid limp in my babysitters arms and my husband was standing in the living room trying to answer questions while crying. We rushed to the ocal hospital just to be told there wasn't anything they could do for her! So we were rushed to OKC were they tested her for everything from Botulism down to the west nile virus. She was in the ICU for a few days were she developed intestinal bleeding! We were clueless! The doctors finally decided we needed an MRI ! They found a lesion in her spinal cord. Finally a diagnosis! A horrifying diagnosis! ACUTE TRANSVERSE MYELITIS! It is a rare inflammatory disease that causes injury to the spinal cord that left Laylah mostly paralyzed! She is now able to move her head but she isn't able to hold it up very long at all and she has minimal movement in her right arm.She is left with digestive problems which are leading to her having to have a feeding tube put in next week or the week after and she is having difficulties controlling her breathing as well as her temperature. She now has fainting spells which keeps dropping her heart rate to dangerous levels. She is now in a medical rehabilitation unit 100 miles away while we are forced to go back to work after a month and a half so we can attempt to get caught up on our bills and keep from getting evicted! Ideally we would like to relocate to be able to be by our Angels side! We were also told that it is advised for her to be under 24 hour care due to her weaknesses. She is now highly susceptible to diseases which can get dangerous for her! She now has to be seen by neurology, gastroenterologist, physical ,occupational and speech therapists trying to rebuild her normal bodily functions.the sad thing is it could all be from an allergic reaction to her immunizations! You try to do the best for your child and get their shots faithfully, but now I am debating should i get the twins shots again or not? We should not ever be faced with a decision like that! i am the only one working after a month and a half of hospitalization and many more months to come and it has put a heavy financial strain on us!

May God bless all of you and we thank you with all of our hearts for your prayers and donations!
