This is a GoFundMe to raise money to help my daughter and her two friends' robotics team, the Atomic Raven Force (ARF). All monies raised will help the whole team - all three kids, their robot & their coach & chaperones - go to the VEX Robotics World Championships.
Here's their story...
"We got the surprise of a lifetime yesterday (Saturday, March 11th) at the Washington State VEX Robotics Championships - even though we lost in the Quarter Finals (to the team that eventually took 1st place!), we won the Excellence Award!!
For those unfamiliar with VEX competition, this award goes to the team (out of the 50 teams who qualified and went to state) who was considered by the judges to be the best overall in all of the categories: overall ranking, robot design, engineering notebook, autonomous programming, driver skills, teamwork (working with different teams and their robots during matches), and sportsmanship."
The Dilema:
"SO... now, with less than 5 weeks until the competition, we need to raise money to go and compete in Louisville, KY at the VEX World Championships, where hundreds of teams from over 30 countries will compete! Coming from a small, 5-year-old tech school with limited funds (unlike the well-funded club teams that usually win), even qualifying for state was already the top of our dreams. Basically, the school has little resources to get us there - so it's up to us (and hopefully you!) to make our most fantastical and downright outrageous dreams become a reality!"
How You Can Help:
There you have it - we need to raise a lot of money FAST! It would be great if a few big donors could give large chunks, but in reality this is probably going to have to be put together $25-$50 at a time, so don't think your donation is too small to make a difference - every little bit helps!

Here's a little bit of what the expenses look like:
Airfare - Approx $760/person x 8 (each kid, coach & chaperone) PLUS the cost of flying the robot out as well - another $500...
Hotel - Approx $200/night x 4 rooms x 5 nights...
Meals - (in a convention center/concessions) - $$?
Other - surely we forgot something (like cab fare?)
