A few words, lots of pictures, a video, and GO!

Hey everyone!!!
I'm Alyssa and this is Andres.  Maybe you know us, are just browsing this site, or ended up here because of Project Raise.  Either way, we're so happy to have you!  I'll be your tour guide today as you find out a little bit more about us and our goal.  Would you look at that, since I never stop talking, my mouth is already open.............ha.

First things first, did you know Andres is famous from his video debut riiiiiiight here?! Check it out:

Thanks for watching! It's really important to understand why we are kicking off this campaign in the first place - we want to make that and we need money to do so.

We live in Rochester, NY with our 2 cats, Foo Foo (black) and her kitty daughter Turtle.  So cute, right. Until you find out Miss grown up Turtle at 1 yr old only uses the litter box 10% of the time.  And, now you know what we spend 90% of our time around the house doing. (No, no pic of that, eww!  It's because she has spina bifida for cats and can't use her back legs normally, or control her bladder.)

Anyways...Some other times we like to watch football and drink margaritas (we promise we won't use the money to bring our tv out of the 1990's), have onion pickling competitions, and do yard work and gardening. Here we just finished digging a French drain...not many 20 something's do that with their weekend.

While most of my night revolves around cooking my way through the ancestral health/paleo diet that changed our lives, and dancing salsa together in our backyard...

...Andres is still a Biomedical Engineering student at RIT (I graduated from there in 2013) and is being taunted day in and day out about what the future holds after graduation, working hard to get back to California.

Hell, on October 1st the campus was a buzz for the Career Fair, which to us was the perfect day to launch information about how he has been working to develop his own career.  We're both startup people, we have the blood of entrepreneurs.  I have helped early-stage startups, owned my own business Regal Peacock Pottery, assisted in managing Bella Amore Canalside Gifts in Pittsford, planned events galore, sold businesses, rented houses, choreographed dance after starting Vis Viva Dance Company in college, and currently instruct multiple Zumba Fitness and Zumba Toning classes a week at RIT and A Time for Dance, work at Gro-Moore Farms and write recipes for Small World Foods.  I suppose I was never the girl to "pick just one thing I like doing"...change and progression keeps me feeling alive.

On the other hand, simply put, Andres' passion lies in building and fixing things. He doesn't want to enjoy this at an engineering company where they tell him what to do, I mean, I tell him to fix enough car and house stuff as it is! Ooops. So, the concussion field that he has been in for the better part of 5 years is his first realm to conquer with his product idea for his own business.

(Remember that video up top?! YES go watch that.)
More funny cat pictures are below if you do..... :D

The featured chip is anticipated to change lives and needs to be perfected, the kinks ironed out....literally.  (It is made using an iron that seals 2 pieces of plastic together.)  The hope is that if this simple product can go mainstream, anybody in any household will have the ability to make this themselves and bring it field-side for their child's next football game, wrestling match, lacrosse tournament...you name it, and you can be a part of a quick concussion detection process.  We won't stop there though, the NFL is digging this too, starting with the Buffalo Bills.  (I mean, they didn't suck for 2 whole weeks this season, give them a break.)

Well, I don't want to take up too much more of your time, you've already made it this far!  Here comes the money part, the reason why you just spent a few minutes virtually getting to know us.  OK, we tried the "get a job and develop your passion into something meaningful on the side" thing, and it doesn't cut it...there's always difficulty saving money anyway when Time Warner Cable charges so much for their shitty internet, among other expenses.  On top of that, the biotech investment that is needed to pull off a project like this is just not as large in Rochester as it would be on the west coast in cities that thrive on startup in this field. We have made a ton of connections here, but they haven't transpired into $$$$ to get this done. We spent a weekend in SF and landed more leads in 2 days than in 2 months in the ROC.  With your help, we can spend the 8 months Andres has off from school in California making this thing happen.  The total on this page isn't the amount of investment we need, which is much larger, but by helping us get to the location where the people are better suited to help us (and where it is a lot warmer, which we can't wait for!) you're making just as worthy of a contribution.

Thank you so much for your time, donation, and/or share on social media, and if you want any more pictures of our cats as a thank you, you have thousands on my camera roll to choose from. Like these Instagram-stickered beauties ;)

No but really, Thank you.
