Anacostia in Fashion

 I need your help! In November I was so inspired by this area just across from my home, I was immediately drawn to it and had to figure it out.  I pulled together some amazing talent to do a Photoshoot. While the shoot was going on, I kept feeling like this was much bigger than just the Photoshoot. It came to me "Anacostia in Fashion".

Anacostia in Fashion will be a representation of key moments in Historic Anacostia history through Fashion and Multi media, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Parent Engagement Committee at Anacostia High School.

The Arch Development Corp. and the Office of Planning invited Artists to be apart of Lumen8anacostia, a 14 week event to bring awareness to the area thru a combination of art, events, mini seminars and just great energy. I submitted a proposal and they accepted. I received a room and a grant of $500 to produce this introductory phase. Unfortunately that will not cover the basics. I still need lights, invitations, flyers, fabric, photos printed, mounted and framed. Video still needs to be edited and so on....

 I am swallowing my pride and I'm asking those of you who can help me to do make this an event to remember. I'm almost there but I still need a little more.  This would be great if you could help me out. I will recognize those as patrons in our advertisments and private fashion events.  Anything will help $1, $5, $10,$20. I would certainly be blessed by your efforts. Thank you in advance!
