Alfie has a broken heart, please help!

Please help! This is Alfie our beloved 6 month old French Bull Dog
He needs a heart operation to prevent him from going into heart failure.
Alfie came to live with me when he was 9 weeks old as he had been diagnosed with a heart condition so needed a home as he could not be sold. At the time we thought there was nothing medically that could be done for Alfie so, as a vet nurse, I decided to give him a home for as long as he had a good quality of life. Puppies with his condition can die suddenly within the 1st year of life.
Alfie is a happy, lively and extremely naughty puppy! He is a larger than life character and has taken over our houshold! Such a big personality in such a small package! But internally things are not so good.
Last week we repeated his heart scan to monitor his progress and it has been decided there may be a surgical procedure that could prevent his condition deteriorating further.
The operation he needs involves opening up a valve in his heart and without this operation he will not live long. By having the operation he should live a normal happy life (hopefully up to 12 years).
He needs this operation AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as every week that goes by his heart is becoming more damaged.
This is a very specialised operation and can only be performed in a handfull of specialised veterinary hospitals hence is very expensive.I have been contacted by a referal centre that has very kindly offered to do the surgery at a reduced cost but I still need to raise £2,800.
As Alfie was diagnosed with this problem before I gave him a home I could not get him insured.
I am trying lots of different ways to raise the funds including doing a sponsored skydive and working lots of overtime!
He is the most wonderful member of our family and is loved so much by my children, they are heartbroken by the prospect of loosing him.
If anybody can contribute towards Alfie having his operation by sponsoring the SKYDIVE I am doing on the 2nd May myself and my children would be so grateful, please help us save this wonderful dogs life.
