AMAZING NEWS.....With the help of over 200 very wet runners, generous corporate donors for the Mettle Run, and many pancake eaters on Saturday A Home for Austin has met the goal to finish construction on Austin's home!!!
We are entering the final stages of construction. The house was moved from Lennox High School and onto it's foundation in Tea on Thursday, August 28th. It was a very moving day in every sense of the word.
Any further funds raised will go toward landscaping, fencing and final touches on Austin's home such as window coverings and things to personalize the home for Austin and his brother Chance.
The icing on the cake would be to have a few extra funds left to use towards Skylander Bedding and accessories for Austin's room.
We are hoping to have Austin in his new home early this fall.
Thank you to everyone who opened your hearts and pocket books to make this dream a reality. It really IS happening.
Please continue to follow our progress on our website ahomeforaustin.org and our Facebook page A Home For Austin.
Today is $5 Friday with all funds raised today going towards special door openers for Austin's new home. These door openers will allow Austin to open both the front door and patio door to go outside all by himself.
This morning funds are already $55 closer to the $2,600 it will take to put this special feature on both doors in Austin's new house. The magic number today will be $9, 741.00 in funds raised at the top of Ausin's page, that will get it done.
It is a pretty big Christmas wish, but believing is seeing.
A little update...
Through your generous donations last week we now have the funds to move Austin's home onto the foundation in the spring! It is such a relief to know the funds are there to take care of Milbank House Movers as they join this adventure.
Now onto the big one...foundation work. Together this can be done. Keep sharing and believing.
$45,000 is the new goal! This is the amount needed to bring Austin's home to full completion. The new goal is a result of generous donations from contractors, vendors, volunteers and donations large and small. Thank you.
Wishing you a safe and blessed Thanksgiving. Please know how thankful we are for all of you who believe in this dream for Austin.

Our goal is to raise $6,000 to cover moving expenses to move the house from Lennox to Tea in the Spring. Thank you to Milbank House Movers who have agreed to take on this project.
Special thanks to those who have already helped today!
Holly & Tracy and all the A Home For Austin Believers....we are growing in number.
The house will be started this FALL! Lennox High School will begin building A Home for Austin with hopes to be all enclosed by December so work can be done on the inside this winter. The house will be moved and finished on the lot this spring. We are so grateful for their partnership in this project along with the support from many other surrounding communities and businesses.
Austin is getting his house....it's actually happening!
YAY!!!!! The lumber has been donated. Thank you to the generous and wonderful people from Scott's Lumber, Schoeneman's, and ProBuild who are working together to help us out with materials for Austin's new home.

The big news is that a lot has been GENEROUSLY donated for Austin's new home!! The next goal is putting up the outer shell of the house. The estimated cost of the shell is $80,000. With our current funds we are 1/8th of the way there.
Help us build A Home for Austin! Our friend, Austin, lost all four of his limbs as a complication of meningitis when he was 2 years old. He now is in the 1st grade at Tea Area Elementary in Tea, SD. He needs our help!
We want to help Austin's family build a handicapped accessible home where he can be as independent and successful as possible.
