Shanice's Next Chapter: London Calling!
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Shanice. I am a graduate of Stony Brook University, where I double-majored in Psychology & Women's Studies. I graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.55.
Education has always been very important to me, and I have many long term dreams and goals that would see me being able to make a positive contribution to mental health and wellness in the global society.
Throughout my four years at Stony Brook, I was constantly in fear of not being able to see the end of my undergraduate years as planned. Despite the various negative circumstances (financial and otherwise), I am proud to say that I did it, and had made every attempt to do it well.
Due to lack of financial resources, I was forced to take a gap year after completing my Bachelor's degree. I am very much interested in Health Psychology, and now have the opportunity of a lifetime to study in London at Brunel University!
This is a very exciting prospect for me. I am always interested in being able to experience different parts of the world, as well as examining cross-cultural perspectives of all kinds. Studying in London for a year would definitely enable me to do so.
I have been very worried about being able to financially jumpstart myself on this journey. I will be working all summer, where all my wages (or as much as possible) will be put towards this cause. Despite that, I do realize that it will not be enough. I will have expenses such as airfare, and initial expenses (food, public transportation, etc) that I am in need of help to acquire.
All help will be appreciated! Whether it is a donation of $1, a word of encouragement, a hug (real, or virtual - I would never discriminate), I will thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of me.
With all my love,
Shanice :)
