"Can you think of a colour that you've never seen? Can you reminisce on places you've never been?"
- Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley

Manifesto|Jamaica is one of 10 youth-focused organizations from the Commonwealth invited to send their theatre group to Glasgow to participate in the Tin Forest Theatre Festival.
The festival is part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme featured at this year's Commonwealth Games.

We’re the only Caribbean country represented!

Our piece, 'SomeNoWhere', is being directed by Shaun Drysdale & Randy McClaren. The actors are Jodean Tapper, Paula-Gaye Donaldson, Randy McLaren, Renard Anderson, Renee Jones, Sheldon Kelly and Shaneil Orr. The group includes youth from both rural and challenging urban communities. They will be chaperoned by Lesley-Ann Welsh & Natalia Welsh, Directors and founding members of Manifesto Jamaica.

OUR MISSION...

We've made incredible progress since we first set out in April to raise at least US $20,000 (or otherwise secure 10 plane tickets). We are now so close to securing the funds required to allow the youth to shine in Glasgow. It would only take 150 art & culture lovers to contribute US$20 each to this campaign to close the gap!

If only words could express how grateful these young actors are to every single nationbuilder who has contributed powerful prayers, encouragement and support thus far. On the organizational level, nuff respect to RISE Life Management Services for providing rehearsal space, British Airways for providing a significant discount on the fares and the Tourism Enhancement Fund for sponsoring the bulk of the travel expenses. To begin to illustrate the impact of your joint actions we share the reflections of Renard Anderson, from Trench Town: "Yes, this will be my first time leaving Jamaica. But I am more excited about WHY I'm leaving than the fact that I am leaving - I'm excited to be representing Jamaica."

Please help us to close the gap by promoting this campaign.

We look forward to seeing you all at our home performance on Saturday July 12 at 5 p.m. at the Institute of Jamaica, and hope that you will invite your family, friends and colleagues. Contribution: $1000. (Students with ID: $500)

After that, we're off to Glasgow to do what we do best…
...Represent the best of Jamaican Art & Culture to di fullest!
