Tonight I must say I am proud. I am so proud of all of you that helped me by donating to these awesome boys. At the end of all of this I must say that I have been given way more from them than I have been able to give. Thank you for your generosity, your prayer, your continued uplifting messages, and your continued concern. It really has been an honor to take on this challenge, and honor that will be with me forever. I feel blessed to have become part of their life. Tomorrow we get to go talk to a college for Alec, and make connections with another.... How lucky for me. We will officially close the fundraiser on Friday evening and the funds will be put in trust for the boys.
I leave you with this thought....
Never underestimate the difference YOU can make in the lives of others. Step forward, reach out and help. This week reach to someone that might need a lift.
Proverbs 3:27 - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
What a fantastic day!!!
Wow!!! Congrats to Alec!!!
He graduated high school today, and again just as expected did it with such strength and class. The comments he share with and about classmates, the promises he made to help take care of his brothers forever. He needs us to rally in these final days and help support him!!!! Help me get to at least 15,000!!!!
Good Morning to all of the supporters and followers of our GoFundMe website! It is so very amazing to me that a group of people could come together in 12 short days and raise this kind of money for a family in need. I have spent 12 days of my life fielding so many questions, and kind comments, and mind blowing compliments to which my response stayed strong.....It's not about me, it's about Alec, Chase, and Aiden and it's for Tina. I have done nothing special other than care about a family as I do my own. Today I ask one last time for your help. On Saturday June 14th we are going to close down our website, and I know that with a little help from all of you I can get this number to 15000.00. Did I reach my goal? No, but along the way we gained so much more. My goal starts today to add 3755.00 by Saturday evening, can you help me? Every one of my friends will get a text message today with a challenge! What can you do to help? I hope you all have a very blessed day.
Everyone needs encouragement, everyone needs hope. These are gifts you can give to anyone, at anytime.....
We made it to 11,000!!!! Everyday I pray that it will be a good day with a few more donations. So many things happening, so many good things! Alec graduates from high school this weekend, how awesome!!! They still need help from all of us.... If you can afford 5, 10, even $20 that would help this family so much.
What a beautiful Sunday! I just spoke with Alec and thank you God as he is out enjoying some graduation parties, he deserves it. I need your help more than ever. My effort is not even close to being over so I need everyone on board!! If you can afford to donate today, we need it!!! Anything you can give is appreciated beyond measure!!! God Bless You for all that you have done!!
Today starts a new chapter for this family, the time when life starts over. A new way of living, living with a void. It is more important than ever to keep this fundraiser alive and in everyone's face!!! My goal is $1000.00 per day, we can do this!!! Today, at this moment we are almost at $10,500! I need all of you to help me... Help this family!!!
OMG!!! What a moment! We have made it to the $10,000 mark!! I am overwhelmed
With the generosity of so many! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Don't stop now. Please forward, or share the word. In six short days we made it to this number, we can make it to my goal! Every penny will help this family with bills, food, living expenses, and other general necessities..... They need me and they need you!!! Every penny counts!
Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with The Lord
Rest In Peace Tina knowing that there is an entire county helping your children, your family. My goal has not been met, but tonight I know that He has helped orchestrate this entire story and He will help guide us to finish. Tonight, say a little prayer..... We can always use one.
Tonight was amazing!!! I got to meet Alec, Chase, Aiden and the whole Reuille clan... It has been my
Mission since last week to make a difference for this family, and just being with them tonight validates why I have made this my mission. Join us tonight on 21 Alive with Rachel Martin as Alec and his family share with all of us the moment his life changed forever. Courageous, fearless, strong, amazing are just a few words that I would use to describe this... Thank you Rachel Martin for your time, thank you to all of you for your generosity!
It has been questioned why I have done this for this family, and I must
say that I believe that God puts us in places that we need to be when we need to be there.... Thank you Alec and Chase for letting me be a part of this time in your life.
It's quite amazing the number of messages that I have been receiving from complete strangers to me. Many thanks for doing what I have done, what have I done? I worried in the beginning that people would misunderstand my mission or my connection. I just received an email a few minutes ago and she wanted to 'thank me' for doing all that I have done. My response might surprise you........
" Truly no thank's needed.
I did not know Alec until last week, I became drawn to his story and saddened by the development. I too have three boys, and a daughter - I was overwhelmed at the thought of what would happen to my own family if I died. I thought, wow, would someone look out for me? That's all. He is an amazing young man and we talk everyday! I am going to meet him tonight for the first time when I take over dinner, I am the one who is truly blessed to have him in my life."
My mission in life is to be the best giver that I can be, and to give freely of myself. I require nor desire any thanks, recognition, or praise. My reward comes when the people I try to help, accept my help and the result has a positive affect on their life, that's it, plain and simple. God Bless.
Oh my gosh!!! What a beautiful day!!! I am in tears tonight after having multiple people contact me privately to help Alec and his family, I am overwhelmed with the fact that we are $40 shy of $6000.00 in just three short days!! I have only lived in Fort Wayne for seven years, but I can tell you that I have never been more proud to call this place home!! Thank you so very much for all the support! I will be with Alec tomorrow evening and delivering food, if there is anything at all you would like me to deliver to their family please contact me and we will make arrangements to do so.
As I start this beautiful Tuesday morning, and keep close in my heart Alec and his family as they make funeral arrangements, I am reminded that there are such beautiful people in the world! We are just shy of $5000.00 this morning! We have only been at this for 72 hours!!! Wow!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the donations and love that have been received so far.
Today I pray. I pray that your presence be obvious while the Reuille family has emotional decissions to be made. I pray that you help Alec find time to cry, it's natural and he needs it. I pray that the Reuille family feel all of your love and our love and know that people care. Lord give them strength today! In your name I pray.
Alec and I spoke this morning and he ask that I share his story with all of the people that have showed support to his family:
For starters I'd love to tell my mother Happy 42nd Birthday!!!
May 28 is when life took a dramatic change. Mom watching my sectional game, as speaking to my grandmother beginning to say she didn't feel well. She unexpectedly passed out. Which was the last time she was ever awake. I kept looking into the stands and I said something to the umpire like, "man I wonder what's going on up there. ". I kept looking, pitch after pitch and soon I realized it was my mom. We stopped the game and I went to see her crying in my family's arms. They said she was breathing on her own at that point so I decided I should finish the game out. We won the game 2-1. I went to the hospital to see her with tubes and wires all over her body and she wasn't looking well. Very sick. She had suffered a brain aneurysm. Now began the endless waiting, praying, and hoping in the hospital. Spending the night on the hard chairs and floors waiting for the moment she wakes. The doctor came to us the next day and said she was about to die and we need to say out goodbyes. We all began to and towards the end of it she starting showing signs of being better and gave everybody and enormous amount of hope. She was better but going into the late night she kept getting worse. Stayed the same throughout the next day and around 11:45 pm May 30 is when our mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed. She was a single mother of 3, Aiden-3 Chase-16 and me Alec -18. We now grow up living with family members and not to say we're upset about that but it's just not the same. The support and love we are getting is unreal and there are no words that we could say or anything that we could do to show how thankful we are. We love you all, and you're all now apart of the family as well. Thank you.
I must tell all of you how very thankful I am this morning. As I celebrate my son's 14th birthday today, I remember to not take for granted every hour, minute, every memory. I am so grateful to all of you for finding it in your heart to donate to Alec and his family. I will be posting some things from Alec very soon. Please forward this site to everyone you know. There is no reason for this family to have to worry about what will happen to them financially while they lay their mom to rest. Anything you can do would be amazing! I am so amazed at where we are in just 48 hours! I believe in 'Pay It Forward', and what a beautiful way to do just that!
It's a new day today, and we still need your help!!! These kids need your help!! Please find it in your heart today to make a donation of any kind nothing is too small!!
We are about 12 hours into our effort and just shy of 1000.00!!!! This is going to be so easy!!! Please share with everyone you know!!
We are just beginning, and our goals are high. My hope for this family is that we as a united front could make their lives a little easier as they learn to move forward without their mom.
