Riley the Cavalier Puppy's Heart Surgery

Riley is a four-month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy fostered with Cavalier Rescue of Florida. Riley has a serious heart condition called severe pulmonic stenosis and is scheduled to have surgery on June 11th if we can the raise the $2,400 to $3,000 needed for his heart surgery. The University of Florida Veterinary Hospital Cardiologist who has been treating and evaluating Riley says he is a good candidate for pulmonic valve surgery and should live a long, healthy life if the surgery is done now. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for Riley’s surgery. Any amounts received for this cause that exceed the amount Cavalier Rescue of Florida will pay for Riley’s heart surgery will be used for the medical care of other Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in our care.

His foster mom says that Riley is a fantastic little guy, the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. Riley enjoys a romp in the grass and then lies in it soaking up the spring sun. They are working on potty training, and his days are filled with games of tug with adult dogs, cuddling, eating and sleeping. He really loves to cuddle in the evening and finds his spot, if my lap is filled-he’s quite content to lay on my shoulder.

He is all puppy, and doesn’t show any outward signs that his sweet, loveable heart needs medical attention.  Once he has recovered from his heart surgery, he will be available for adoption to a loving furever home.  Click here for information on adopting Riley or one of the other beautiful, loving dogs with Cavalier Rescue of Florida.
