good morning folks. Just a quick update. We are at $3860 raised in just a little over 5 days. That is incredible. We need to keep the momentum going. Our goal is $10,000. Stay tuned for future updates. I am in the works of contacting the university to see if we can get Noah and his family to a game this fall. I have reached out to Larry the Cable guy as well.
As always, please share this with everyone you know and encourage them to do the same. The family is so humbled by the love Husker Nation and their friends have shown.
please visit and like Noah's Facebook page. There will be many updates. Noah had a rough day due to getting sick from medication. He is down to 30 pounds which isn't much for a 4 year old. Please share this site with all your social media circles..
Husker Nation, we are really doing a great job! In just over 24 hours, we are $5.00 away from $3,000! 30% to our goal of $10,000. This will go to offset medical expenses the family will have to pay out of pocket. Let's get there Huskers!!
Treatment protocols for each staging are standardized by the Children's Oncology Group (see here). Noah would receive the same treatments at Children's here in Omaha that he would in Memphis.
His oncologist, Dr. Minnie Abromowitch, spent 12 years at St. Jude's and has treated "hundreds" of children with neuroblastoma. I think there is also something to be said for home field advantage here in Omaha. We have a lot more resources here in Omaha available to us. Noah will be able to sleep in his own bed when not at the hospital. Stuff like that.
That being said, and please God forbid it, if he does receive an Advanced staging, this is something we will strongly consider.
At the doctor yesterday, we established a timeline for staging Noah's disease. He is scheduled to have a comprehensive imaging study done at UNMC over 3 days next week ( I think it is called an MGIB study, or something similar to that), as well as a surgery on 6/9 (biopsy and port installation for chemo).
Once the staging is complete, treatment will begin shortly after. All on Noah's treatments will be on an inpatient basis, regardless of staging.
A day every parent dreads has happened to a fellow Husker family memeber. A young boy named Noah, age 4, has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma..The road ahead is going to be hard for this family. I am reaching out to Husker Nation to donate money to help offset the families medical expenses. In this time of need, we all need to rally around this young man and his family. I am counting on all of you to help. It can be as litle as $5.00. The amount DOES NOT matter. The thought and the love each donation shows this family, will help get them through this trying time.
