Public: Help save a Life

As you read this text, you will see that this is no ordinary fundraiser. Often, these people go unnoticed. They are your dentists, your teachers, your neighbors, your dog walker, your policeman and maybe even your child. These are people who hide from themselves because it may be too dangerous to be out in public. You could be friends with this person for twenty years and still not know who they are. These people are our friends and we are here to show them we care. Each year, we will dedicate one individual who has overcome obstacles with childhood sexual abuse. This year in particular, we are honoring one young woman who has been through many struggles facing her abuser. Often, victims go unnoticed for years and sometimes forever. For confidentiality purposes, we will call this victim by a pseudo name of Ann. Ann reached out to me since I was an avid CrossFitter and we had many political conversations about the legal process. Since most abusers receive very little to none of jail time, victims have to live with an eye always over their shoulder. Ann is one if these victims and she has endured medical, legal and educational debt due to her 9 years of sexual abuse. Ann is afraid to seek external help because she would have to bear the emotional challenges it will bring to her and her family. Therefore, we are asking our fellow CrossFitters and the public to dedicate September 3rd, 2014 (The last day of her attack years ago) and perform the following WOD in her honor: AMRAP 20 25 Double Unders 15 Deadlifts 135/155 15 Burpees 25 Double Unders If you have any questions, please use the contact link and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
