Genny Is Fighting for her right to take her prescribed medicine at school. She is an epileptic who also suffers from severe autism. Over her 16 years, we have tried every pharmaceutical for epilepsy, subjected her to brain surgery at 2 and one-half years of age, and placed her on a ridiculous diet, the ketogenic diet, AND NOTHING EVER WORKED! Nothing ever worked that is, until her Mom decided to try medical marijuana. And to our family's complete astonishment, IT WORKED!! Genny's Seizures have been greatly reduced and her behavior and learning abilities greatly improved.
However, the State of New Jersey and the Court system has decided to this point, that Genny will not be able to take her medicine at school. She therefore must come home at noon each day to take her medicine, in an attempt to prevent crippling seizures.
On September 14, 2015, Genny's case goes before the same Judge for an Emergent Relief trial to see if her mom can go into school to administer her medicine. At the same time, we have appealed to the New Jersey Supreme Court.
As a result of moving through the judicial system, the expense has become overwhelming. The cost alone for filing fees, ink cartridges, paper work, binders and other general court costs have taken it's toll on our family. With your donations, it will ease the burden as we expedite our move to the United States Supreme Court.
