The Hammontree Family

Donation protected
Tragedy has struck this poor family hard in a horrific series of unfortunate events.

On the morning of May 3rd, Joe, Leonette, and their son Jacob were involved in a slight fender bender. The damage was minimal to thier family car. Later that day Joe decided to hop on is newly restored motorcycle to enjoy and afternoon ride. Sadly, later that afternoon he was envolved in another accident on his motorcycle that sent him to a hospital by lifeflight.

Joe then spent the next 10 days at KU Med Center in Kansas City.
He sufferd from 2 broken feet, his left tibia was shattered and replaced with titanium, he had to have skin graphs and a muscle removed from his back to his calf. His recovery time is estimated to be 2 years.

During Joe's hospital stay, he and his wife, Leonette celebrated Mothers Day and their 19th wedding anniversary together in a hospital room, just happy that they were able celebrate these wonderful days together.

Joe was able to return home on May 13th but, only for a short time as his 4th surgery in less than 3 weeks was scheduled for May 20th.

Today, on May 19th, Joe's wife, Leonette was in a fatal accident on her motorcycle.

How so many tragic events can happen to one family is beyond our understanding. We must trust that the Good Lord has called Leonette home for his greater purpose.

As a community, this page is our effort to raise funds for this family, to help with medical bills and travel expenses, supplemental money for bills as they arise, home improvements that need to be made to help Joe with his recovery, and any other needs the family will need help with.

Joe and Leonette have two incredibly gifted, beautiful children.
Their daughter, Kelsey, who is a cancer survivor will be graduating high school this coming Sunday, May 25th, and thier son Jacob who is a freshman. Jacob was at a state golf tournament the day of the accident, representing his high school the Nevada Tigers.

Even if you are unable to donate to this fund, please, do say a prayer for this family! They have a very long painful journey ahead of them.

Many THANKS for your time!

I also just learned that Joe lost his brother to a motorcycle accident 27 years ago and that both Joe and Leonettes accidents were less than 1 mile apart. :( My heart BREAKS for them.
