Doctor Shmoctor Bear Rental

The Max Fischer Players are excited to return to the San Diego Fringe Festival hot on the heels of our award winning production of UBU last summer.

As many of you know, UBU features a scene with a bear. We have tackled this issue theatrically in the past with the use of shadow puppets and an actor in a bear suit. However, these attempts have always somehow rung hollow.

Your donation today will go toward renting a grizzly bear and trainer from Hollywood Animals for our performances of DOCTOR SHMOCTOR in July. This company has extensive experience working with the television and film industry. We can't think of anything more exciting than seeing such a majestic animal wrestling with Michael Nieto!

In addition to the animal rental fees, we anticipate additional costs for liability insurance and standby EMTs.

In the event that this campaign is not fully funded, we will downsize to a black bear. If donations fall short of this cost, the money will be used for props, costumes, and actor stipends.
