Michael Bafour Addo Memorial Expenses

Michael Addo was tragically murdered at a Rite Aid drug store in Frandor  leaving a wife, 11 month old daughter and parents in Ghana who depended upon him for support.  He has no family here.  The purpose of this site is to raise funds to cover expenses to transport Mr. Addo from the US back to his family in Ghana, where he will receive a traditional funeral and burial surrounded by the love of his wife, child, parents, siblings and friends.  Mr. Addo has no life insurance and his family in Ghana has no funds to help with the costs.  All donations will go toward his expenses and to provide for his wife and infant child.

Those who knew Mr. Addo will remember him for “his quietness and calmness”.  A friend in Ghana said, “We are all devastated and we don’t know what to do. It’s a huge loss to the family, friends and the nation at large because here is a very promising guy in his prime age and all of a sudden out of the blues he’s just gone like that by one crazy guy”.

A memorial service will be held for Michael Addo at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lansing at 7:00pm, Sat., May 24. The community is invited.
