Costs of living with Cancer

I was just diagnosed with cervical cancer last week. I have no insurance and a very limited income. I have had a lot of difficulty getting any help because I live alone and don't have custody of my children. I am being seen by the VA in the area since I am a vet on limited income. However, they are dragging their feet and giving me the run-a-round about getting the surgery to remove the cancerous cells. In addition, I am only part time contract employee and was already struggling to get food and gas but now that I am missing work because of my illness I can't survive. Any help would be grately appreciated!!!
