Hello! As many of you know, my mom is battling some less than cool stuff. I'll get in to more detail as time goes on. Essentially the cancer is back and back with a vicious vengeance. With that being said, her faith as well as those around her remain in God. God is the doctor we believe in and trust his healing hand. This all began a few short months ago with a trip to the urgent care for some chest pain. A few scans later and some blood work determined that her cancer was back. A PET scan then revealed that the cancer had metastasized to the area around her right lung and chest cavity. In addition, that the cancer had metastasized to her brain requiring emergency brain surgery. Two days later she went in for brain surgery, left with 19 staples and a plate in her skull. After that, she began localized radiation to the brain area to kill off any cancerous cells that were missed. Then chemo began, she receives chemo through a port once a week for three weeks then gets one week of rest. That brings us to now.... A recent scan has shown that the malignant pleural effusion has dried up so she can now breathe much better. Unfortunately even with the extreme chemo, some of the tumors have nearly doubled in size. Speaking with the oncologist today, our one option left is a special type of molecular testing so that scientists can try and determine what to try next. This testing is gonna cost 30,000 dollars but that is a small price for my moms life. So that is where we stand. My mom is currently a single mom raising my three little siblings and trying to work full time, while battling this disease. She is beyond amazing and kicks life's butt everyday. Our family is not one to ask for help for stuff, especially from a financial aspect. I am setting this up because I know the struggles for my mom, the last thing I want her to worry about is finances and these unreal amount of doctor bills coming in daily. I wish that I could pay them all for her but that is unrealistic. To anyone who helps, I will do my best to repay you, whether it be in labor or maybe I hit the lotto and give you back your money. My mom is the center of our family and mom to many kids and friends of mine. Thank you for all the constant prayer and for having my families back. Love you all.
