SAE Supermileage USB

SUPERMILEAGE USB is a student-lead initiative to design, build and test the FIRST Venezuelan vehicle with a fuel economy rate of 800 MPG. This project has been organized by various engineering students from the Universidad Simon Bolivar (Simon Bolivar University) in Caracas, Venezuela. Our team currently seeks to represent Venezuela at the SAE Supermileage Competition this coming June 5th and 6th in Marshall, Michigan. The SAE Supermileage competition is an annual event that provides engineering and technology students from all over the world the opportunity to interact with several professionals from the leading firms in the automotive industry. With this project we intent to create awareness of the importance of utilizing fuel efficient vehicles. At a time when the massive consumption of non-renewable fuel oils is the norm, it becomes critical to further develop our knowledge of how to design fuel efficient and cost effective vehicles. 

Our goals for this period are:
1. Design, build and test the FIRST Venezuelan vehicle fuel economy to be able to go 800mpg
2. Be the FIRST team from our country to participate in the SAE Supermileage ® June 2014 to be held in Marshall - Michigan USA.

Venezuela is going through a hard situation where it is increasingly difficult to get the materials and resources needed to build prototypes of all kinds, so we want you to be part of the goal, helping us reach further with this project. Our team’s goal is to fund $10,000 . We intent to use such money finishing the 2014 prototype, transporting it to the competition by plane and buying tools that we will use in future prototypes of our agrupation. Any help we could get will be totally appreciated!
