At Sun Haven Waldorf School  , we believe that Waldorf Education should be available to all children, no matter their family’s economic circumstance. Currently, Sun Haven is able to offer our families tuition adjustment based on need. With your help, we believe that we can make Waldorf Education accessible to all families. What is Waldorf Education?

Developed by Rudolf Steiner, starting in 1919, Waldorf Education is based on an understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. Waldorf teachers strive to transform education into an art that educates the whole child—the heart and the hands, as well as the head. The education emphasizes the role of imagination in learning, striving to integrate holistically the intellectual, practical, and artistic development of students. The overarching goal is to develop free, morally responsible, and integrated individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence.
 

Why we need your help:

Sun Haven Waldorf School is the only Waldorf School available to children and their families on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. As a registered Charity, Non-Profit Society, and an Independent School, Sun Haven relies on tuition revenues and charitable donations to operate, receiving only fifty percent of the government funding per child that is provided to public schools. 
 

How are donations allocated?

Donations from this initiative are allocated towards the tuition adjustment program. This means that a family whose child may not have been able to attend Sun Haven Waldorf School due to their economic circumstance now has the opportunity to do so because of your generosity.
